Men in Black: Most Wanted
An upcoming VR Action Adventure title set in the MiB universe, complete with shooting, stealth, puzzles and a networked co-op mode.
Description
Men In Black: Most Wanted is a sci fi VR thriller set in the 90s based on the popular comic book and movie franchise. The player takes the role of an agent of the titular organization that has had their memory wiped, or "neuralyzed", and must work with their companion Agent L to shoot, sneak, and solve their way through missions to uncover an unknown threat.
The player must solve puzzles with high tech gadgets, fight the toughest aliens in the universe with high tech weapons, and talk to both humans and aliens to discover who, or what, has made a threat on their life.

The player can also team up with a friend or go it alone in Invasion Mode, an online multiplayer mode where up to two players must work together to take down aliens and solve rapid fire objectives.

Project Overview
Starting as a Junior Programmer and finishing the project promoted as a Mid-Level Programmer, I joined onto the project in the summer of 2023 to assist with content programming, focusing primarily on levels programming and core gameplay, and working closely with the Design and QA teams to help realize the player experience of an agent of the popular Men In Black franchise. As my skills improved, I also worked with other code teams, helping to optimize the game and ensure a thrilling experience matching both the company and contractors' standards of high quality.
Project Responsibilities
- I primarily worked on code for core gameplay mechanics, including the player's interaction with the world and interactables, the player's gadgets, in-scene logic, and some bosses.
-
I also assisted the Audio team with implementation of sound effects and events using FMOD's Unity package.
-
Later on in development, I also assisted the engine and VFX team with some quick sprint optimization tasks to ensure the game ran at a solid 72 frames per second during gameplay, looking at reducing graphical overhead whilst still matching the high quality art style of the game.
-
Due to the split between single player and Invasion mode, I helped set up code to be network friendly early on in development and later assisted the Networking team in preventing and fixing network related bugs.
-
I worked closely with QA to ensure that any bugs that came up were not only fixed, but that as many destructive edge cases related to a major bug were fixed in tandem with any reported tickets.
